Pu'u-kohola
Heiau. Pu'u-kohola Heiau National Historic Site, South
Kohala District, Island of Hawai'i
Island chief Kamehameha sought to extend his power across
the Big Island of Hawai'i. A powerful oracle on the island
of Kaua'i told Kamehameha that if he built a ritually
perfect new heiau temple, all the islands would be his.
As the heiau Pu'u-kohola was completed, arch-rival Keoua
fatefully arrived at the shore below. Keoua was killed
and the prophecy unfolded, leading to Kamehameha becoming
the ruler of all Hawai'i. In Aloha, Mr. Lucky, Star tells
Caddy the story of Kamehameha's conquest of Ohau and the
battle of Nuuanu Pali.
